Pastor Liz is deeply rooted commitment to serving others, nurturing spiritual growth, and fostering community connection. She is driven by a love for God and a desire to share that love with others through preaching, teaching, and leading by example.
To provide spiritual leadership to her congregation, guiding us in our faith journey, teaching biblical truths, and helping us grow spiritually. She provides care, support, and extravagant love to those in need during times of joy, sorrow, and difficulty.
The heart of our pastor is a reflection of Christ's own heart, filled with love, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of God's kingdom. Her heart is a deep reservoir of compassion, love, and dedication to serving others and her family.
Pastor Elizabeth Wynn Clausell is a native of Greensboro, NC. She has been married to Pastor Emeritus George Clausell for 50 years. She was the Co-Pastor of Greater New Life Church, Inc. for 32 years alongside her husband. Together they have five children (one deceased), several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was called into the ministry over 40 years ago in Colorado Springs, Colorado after several years of biblical teachings.
As an educator by trade, she is a retiree of Auburn City Schools. She holds a BS degree in Home Economics and Early Childhood Education from Tuskegee University and a master’s degree from Auburn University Montgomery in Early Childhood Education. She taught kindergarten and first grade in the states of Colorado and Alabama. Additionally, she is certified and has teaching experience in Adult Education and taught for three years at Tuskegee University Job Corps Center. She is also a graduate of Leadership Macon County. As a retired educator and having completed several leadership courses, shehas brought her award-winning teaching styles to mentor and equip future leaders. Pastor Clausell has also served as hostess and member of the Bible Study Fellowship International in Montgomery, Alabama.
Pastor Elizabeth Clausell embraces community service as an exhilarating part of her life. She served as chaplain for the Tuskegee Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is the current chaplain for the Macon County Education Retirees Association. She is a member and past President and Vice President of the East Central (Alabama) Mental Health Board of Directors. She has served as the chaplain and financial secretary for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Macon County Chapter. She is a member of the Macon County Minister’s Council, Tuskegee, AL and a member of the
Houses of Prayer Fellowship Churches, Auburn, AL. Her summers were previously spent as a literacy teacher at the S.M.A.R.T. Camp (Science, Math, Art/Agriculture, Reading, Technology); which is sponsored by the Louise O. Newman Center for Learning (501c3). She has been the presenter of several workshops, seminars, and conferences on family life issues.
She is actively engaged in rehabilitation, marriage, and life counseling.
Pastor Liz has received several certificates of appreciation and recognitions for dedicated service and valuable contributions to education and ministry. She was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for Tuskegee Public School and Elementary Teacher of the Year for Macon County in 1990-1991. In 2022 she received the “Phenomenal Woman Award” from The Tuskegee United Women League; in 2023, the “Distinguished Delta D.E.A.R. Award” from the Tuskegee Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Pastor Elizabeth, an avid traveler, has not only visited many of our states but has also visited many countries abroad. As an adolescent, she lived in Nigeria, West Africa for two years. Pastor Elizabeth has returned to Africa on several mission trips and had the opportunity to preach alongside her husband at Christ Victory Life Church International, in Abuja, Nigeria, West Africa.
Her favorite scripture is Psalms 3:3 “But you are a shield around me, O Lord; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.”
